Whatcom County real estate numbers for February are up for both price and number of sales over last year
The pattern of sales (green line in the chart above) is did not come down as far this year as it has in the previous 4 years. More buyers and sellers were able to reach agreements this winter.
The inventory of homes for sale is still very low this year and according to the absorption rate chart we seeing a more balanced market emerging but the number is fluctuating depending how far back we look for our comparison.
If your thinking of selling this may still be a great time while there is still a scarcity of homes for sale and before the spring when many more homes come back on the market and we may switch to a buyers market.
Interest rates are still hovering at record lows and are expected to stay there for a while longer.
