Western Airlines, is starting a Ontario (ONT) to Bellingham (BLI) nonstop service route January 18. The airplane they will be using is Boeing 737-400, fitted with 150 seats. The flight will make the ONT-BLI run four times a week. Western is betting the discount service will attract leisure travelers from Seattle and British Columbia to Ontario. ONT is on the far eastern edges of the sprawling Los Angeles Basin. Ontario International is a medium-sized airport, which serves some 7.2 million passengers per year. An important note: This Western Airlines is not connected with the legendary, and far larger, carrier which once bore the name.
