Western Washington University is among the top universities in the country, according to the annual U.S. News & World Report ranking.
For the third year in a row, WWU was ranked the third-best public university in the West, a region stretching from Texas to Alaska. Western was the highest-ranking school in the Pacific Northwest on the public school list.
When compared to public and private schools in the West, WWU ranked 21st.
Sure the rankings are subjective. Rankings are a complicated issue but USNWR says it “allow you to compare at a glance the relative quality of institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence as retention and graduation rates and the strength of the faculty.”
