Tulips are in Bloom in Fields of Mt Vernon

P1080570It’s  time to get down to  Skagit County and see the tulip fields in Bloom.

Drive the back roads west of Mount Vernon, and you’ll see a brilliant colorful tulip fields, acres of color, that’s right rows of whites, reds, purples, yellows, pinks, all around the area between Mt Vernon and LaConnor, right here in our own backyard. The Bloom Map will guide you to the fields are in bloom.

Hundreds  of acres of blooming tulips are scattered throughout the Skagit Valley.

The display gardens are just beautiful and have flowers in bloom almost all month. Then there’s the 30th Annual Downtown Mt Vernon Street Fair on April 25-27, Fri & Sat 10 am-6 pm, Sun 10 am-5 pm, featuring arts and craft vendors from 8 states, live entertainment , food and fun for kid’s.

Bellingham just can’t get enough of the Farmer’s market soThe Bellingham Farmers Market early  edition of 2014 will begin on Saturday, Jan. 18, in Depot Market Square at 1100 Railroad Ave  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m . There will be additional winter markets on Saturday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, March 15.

More than 30 vendors will participate in the Jan. 18 market—nearly half will be farmers selling either meat, cheese or produce.

The market drew an average of 10,000 shoppers per month the past few years.

There were 145 small businesses from in and around Bellingham and Whatcom County selling their goods at the market last year with about 100 vendors there each Saturday.

It’s Tulip time in Skagit County, time for the The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Want to take an absolutely breath-taking ride.   Try driving through the back roads in of  Mount Vernon, looking out over the fields brilliant color, acres upon acres of color, right here in our own backyard. The Bloom Map will tell you which fields are in bloom.
