in Ferndale, Washington
Home | Search | Buyers | Sellers | About | Testimonials | Contact Ferndale, Washington, is a fast-growing community set beside abundant farmland, along the banks of the Nooksack River. Ferndale's is located 15 minutes north of Bellingham, and an easy drive to Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. Ferndale was
officially incorporated in 1907. It was once called Jam because of its
location near a logjam on the river, the City was renamed Ferndale by
a local school teacher who decided it needed a better name and was an
admirer of the ferns that grew around the original school house. Ferndale is very proud of it's award-winning school system, its relaxed small-town atmosphere and it's affordable quality of life. Ferndale's new River Walk Park is home to a Saturday Farmer's Market and a great addition to it's downtown. Ferndale has some large industries including Alcoa Intalco Works, and the BP Cherry Point and Conoco Phillips Ferndale oil refineries, as well as lots of farmland.
