Tree climbers of all ages, come out and watch the Pro’s. The International Society of Arborists is holding their annual Regional Tree-Climbing Competition Saturday, July 24, at Elizabeth Park from 9am – 3pm.
Professional arborists from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia will compete in the competition Saturday, July 24, at Elizabeth Park.
The three top climbers will compete in the master’s challenge, which includes installing a climbing line, completing a series of activities within the tree and retrieving all equipment from the tree after climbing down.
The regional winners are eligible to compete in the Northwest chapter competition in September; chapter winners move on to the international competition.

Bellingham Parks arborist James Luce, a member of the International Society of Arborists that puts on the annual competition, said “The Whole idea of the event is to bring people together for trees”
