Friday, Sept. 4. is the opening night of Bellingham’s new Night Market. My first experience of night markets where in Chiang Mai Thailand, always lively venues with lots of energy. Always a great experience. Hope Bellingham’s version has great success.
Also known as the Commercial Street Night Market, it will bring together many artists, vendors, food trucks, musicians and fashion trucks from 6 to 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Commercial Stree. The side of the Flatiron Building at Bay and West Holly streets will also be lit up with a light show from Faithlife at 9:30 pm.
It’s also the first Friday night of the month, which means Downtown Art Walk is on.
The Night Market will be happening 6 to 10 p.m. Friday’s until Oct. 2, and the Faithlife light show is will be happening weekends and for special events starting mid-September
Night Market concept was the winner out of 50 entries submitted to Sustainable Connections’ KAPOW! design competition, which took place this summer at Mount Baker Theatre.
